Since this blog has been growing quite a bit recently, I wanted to reintroduce myself! I’m Anne Pyle–previously Anne Warke, hence the url. I’m not your typical blogger, so here’s a bit of history for you to understand me better.
I’ve lived in Texas for nearly all my life, but my Northern parents and family members kept me from being converted from a Yankee. (This will make little sense to my non-American friends, but trust me. It matters.)
I attended five colleges–from Abilene Christian to East Texas Baptist–and changed majors five times–from environmental science to creative writing. It took me three days one time to think of one subject I didn’t enjoy studying. I am definitely a giant nerd.
My freshman year in college, I developed a mental illness that was eventually diagnosed as schizoaffective disorder, though even this diagnosis is used loosely. (More on that here.) I had to move back home and even spent a week in a mental hospital ward for teen girls (I was 17 at the time). After that, I realized that science was not my passion, writing was, and have been writing on and off ever since.
My last semester in college, I started dating a guy who first interested me with his speech on the church and white flight. (I intrigued him with my own on metal music and the kerygma.) Ever since then, we’ve grown closer and closer, and we were recently married on January 7th. I love him very dearly.
I currently work full-time as a temp for an auto insurance company as he finishes up his bachelors and begins his masters. One day, I hope to publish novels and work in the publishing business, but for now, I’ll just dream!
Until next time!
